Physiotherapy

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a specialist healthcare profession focused on restoring movement, reducing pain, and improving function. Using a combination of hands-on treatment, electrotherapy, and tailored exercise programmes, our physio team help people recover from injury, manage pain, and stay active.

Our physiotherapists use evidence-based techniques, ensuring you receive safe, effective care based on the most up-to-date research.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your First Session

Your initial assessment will last up to 30 minutes and begins with a friendly, in-depth conversation about your condition, symptoms, and medical history. This helps us fully understand what’s going on and how it’s affecting you.

Next, our physio will carry out a physical assessment, which may involve:

  • Checking your movement and flexibility
  • Identifying areas of pain or weakness
  • Performing specific tests to help pinpoint the cause of your symptoms

Your Personalised Treatment Plan

Once we’ve gathered all the information, your physiotherapist will:

  • Explain your diagnosis clearly
  • Discuss your treatment options and expected outcomes
  • Outline how many sessions may be needed
  • Offer practical advice on managing your condition at home

You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions, so you feel confident and informed every step of the way.

What to Bring

To get the most out of your session, we recommend:

  • Wearing comfortable clothing – for example, a vest top and shorts if we’re assessing your knee or hip.
  • Please note, you do not need to take off any clothing you do not feel comfortable taking off.
  • Providing any recent scans, X-rays, or consultant letters that could help with your diagnosis and treatment.

Why Choose Us?

At Aldershot Physio, part of the Surrey Physio Group, we take a patient-first approach. That means expert care tailored to you, with clear communication and a treatment plan designed around your goals – whether that’s getting back to sport, managing a chronic condition, or simply moving pain-free.
